Vietnam - More traditional medicine hospitals built in provinces, cities


The Hanoitimes - More hospitals of Traditional Medicine have been built in 53 provinces and cities, according to the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, at a ceremony to celebrate its 55th anniversary of operations and receive the Third-Class Labour Medal in Hanoi.

Attending the event, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, praised the department’s considerable achievements over the past years and significantly contributing to the people’s health care.

To date, 90% of provincial General Hospitals across the country have established Traditional Medicine departments and nearly 80% of medical stations in wards and communes have provided traditional medical check-ups and treatments.


The Minister also emphasised that the Department of Traditional Medicine need to pay attention to important issues including human resource development, infrastructure, material resources, promoting the international co-operation with other countries in the region, especially China and the Republic of Korea.
